Good morning!! So this a progress picture about a month ago. My hiw things have changed. I still have a lot to go but it all takes time. Consistency is key. You’re not going to get the body you want if you’re constantly cheating on your meals or going out every weekend and drinking. It really does not take much to get to where you want to go. Eat right, sleep like a bear, and exercise!! Just do it! It will pay off in the end. Today is Sunday so I’ll keep this short. Fooducate

Hello there! Fooducate is an application I absolutely love that my boyfriend told me about. It is on Android and iphone. This app tells you anything you have to know about a food product you are purchasing. I highly recommend it if you are very serious about eating the good stuff. It let’s you know whether a food is full or sugar, or highly processed etc. All you have to do is scan the barcode and it will tell you everything you need to know about the food product. You wouldn’t believe how foods labeled fat free or no sugar etc are worse than the regular version of that food. I highly recommend this app. It’s so informative and easy to use. It even gives the food product a grade! So if you have an iphone or android phone make sure to download it!

What I ate today

This morning before I did my first Turbo Fire class I had a pre workout of a sandwich slim with a bit of peanut butter and half a banana. I found these sandwich slims on accident when I was looking for wheat bread. Basically it’s bread sliced a lot thinner and you can use it for sandwiches or burgers. They’re whole wheat and are ONLY 90 calories for 2 slices. I count calories only because I want to know exactly what I put in my body and how much I’m burning. I would recommend getting these sandwich slims. When I first got them there was only one brand but last time I want I saw they are making more. These are good carbs, no white bread!

This was my post workout/breakfast I had 2 eggs with a slice of singles cheese and a whole grain tortilla. It is okay to eat an egg a day but if you have high cholesterol you might want to start with eggs whites only. I love eggs and they’re also a good source of protein. I ran out of egg whites so I just had regular eggs. On the side I also had some oatmeal with half a banana and a cup of unsweeted almond milk blended. I would say my breakfast was under 400 calories. You don’t have to count calories but if you’re looking to lose weight you have to eat a certain amount of calories a day. I don’t weigh myself because I’m not trying to lose weight I am trying to be healthy.

For lunch I had tilapia with a tiny bit of light soy sauce and Mrs. Dash chipotle seasoning. Note you don’t want to season your meat with too many ingredients. I use Mrs. Dash because it’s salt free and comes in different flavors. I had a side of cheesy brown rice I made. The brown rice I get  comes in boxes and it only takes 10 minutes to cook. I added a little bit of fat free cheese for flavoring.

For dinner I made Spanish brown rice with black beans and a turkey patty. I am still debating on working out a 2nd time tonight. Note these are all small portions. Make sure you don’t overfeed yourself. I will post the Spanish brown rice recipe soon. Keep reading!

Rest day is the worst day haha

I am making today my rest day. I have been working out every day for the past few days. Your body needs rest days, especially if you are starting to work out. You have to learn when your body needs rest. The longer you work out the more you will learn about your body.
Usually on rest days I try to eat the healthiest I can. I eat about 6 times a day. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between. On your rest day make sure you are eating your biggest meal in the morning,  and by big I don’t mean till you can’t eat, but a good portion. Eat all your fruits in the morning, Eating fruit at night is not bad but it is not the best. You want to eat your fruits in the day time or around your workouts. For my rest I make sure I have a healthy breakfast and smaller meals towards the day. Try to leave heavier foods such as beans, red potatoes or rice for lunch and at night have a protein shake or something like a salad. I don’t always follow this but like I said l am working on bettering myself as I go.

When I am craving something sweet, I usually go for my protein shake. Protein powders come in many different flavors and are great for building lean muscle. The protein powder of my liking comes from Optimum Nutrition and I have tried the strawberry banana and chocolate. They are both delicious and satisfy your sweet cravings. What I like to do is mix it in with a banana and unsweetened almond milk. It comes out sweet and tasty. I also like to mix it up with ice, yogurt and fruits to make it more like a smoothie.

When I crave something salty, I go for almonds. What you can do is buy a pound of almonds and make little snack bags to take with you. You have to make sure the almonds are not salted. Even unsalted this snack will satisfy my salty cravings.

As far as craving something sour, I like to just grab some water and mix it with some lime juice, or this might sounds weird but a cup of tea can satisfy this craving as well.

My beginnings

So this is kind of embarrassing but this is where I started. I’ve looked like this for the last year until 3 months ago of course. Ever since I started eating right and mixing up my work outs I have changed from this to better. These are my beginnings. I will post progress pictures up.
